A Mimosa variant made with grenadine syrup and grapefruit juice.
The stylish cava/champagne provides a sexy punch, while playful grenadine balances the tartness of grapefruit and adds a characteristic pink hue to the drink.
As in the French version of the Mimosa, it is not too alcoholic. We want it to titillate, not make you miss the action at the end of your chosen path.**
1.5 parts grapefruit juice: 0.5 grenadine syrup: 1 champagne.
You can use your sparkling drink of choice, brut cava works well and rosé champagne will reinforce the fruity flavour.
If you’re one of those that get their kicks from champagne, try reversing alcohol/juice proportions. 0.75 grapefruit: 0.25 grenadine: 2 champagne.
Just remember the lines often attributed to Dorothy Parker:
I like to have a martini,
Two at the very most.
